Energy Recovery Systems Signs on with Calnetix Power Solutions Mon., Jun 1, 2009 Energy Recovery Systems LLC (ERS) is now a distributor for Calnetix Power Solutions, Inc. (CPS), a Stuart, Florida based manufacturer of waste heat generators and microturbine generation systems. ERS will represent CPS in New England and upstate New York.
ERS provides turnkey systems to recover energy and generate power from industrial and municipal waste heat sources utilizing steam and organic Rankine cycle (ORC) technology.
ERS aligned with CPS based on their leadership in the small scale ORC waste heat generation equipment market. Using the patented high-speed alternator and integrated power electronics technologies of their parent company Calnetix, they have developed cost effective and durable products for the small scale market (100 kW to 500kW).
Calnetix Power Solutions is a manufacturer of waste heat generators (WHG) and microturbine generation systems for the renewable and distributed energy markets. CPS products are designed to help companies manage their energy costs.
The most costly element of any power generation is the fuel. Using the principle of the organic Rankine cycle the WHG uses heat energy that would otherwise be wasted, reducing fuel costs to near ZERO. With little or no fuel costs WHG projects can have economic returns of 2.5 years, sometimes less, while also increasing energy efficiency.
Microturbines are one of the most important technologies that can be efficiently employed to address the global problems of increasing electrical demand and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Microturbines have much lower emissions than traditional technologies and can have over 70% better overall fuel efficiency. CPS microturbines can utilize a range of ‘renewable fuel’ waste gases including coal bed and landfill methane.
